Jacey Lawrence

​Jacey Lawrence is from Wakulla County and has danced her entire life. She has trained in many styles but she especially enjoys ballet, lyrical, and modern dance. She was a company member with The Tallahassee Ballet, The World Ballet, and attended the Florida State College at Jacksonville where she continued her education in dance with the DanceWorks Company on a full talent scholarship. Ms. Jacey has performed in the Nutcracker Ballet, Peter Pan, La Bayadere, The RockBallet, and competed in many compatitions. Her passion and goal in life is to always inspire others to dance and to be the best mom she can be to her children.

Danielle Whiting

​Danielle Whiting also grew up dancing at Wakulla Dance Academy! She was a part of our competition team where she won numerous awards for her solo and group dances. Danielle teaches our 1 and up jazz class! She loves teaching and sharing her knowledge with her students!

Kristin Weaver

​​Kristin Weaver has been in the dance business since the age of 3. She received her degree from the University of Florida in nursing with a minor in dance. During her college years, Kristin was a member and officer of the Danza Dance Company where she was recognized for her technique and choreography.  Kristin is also well known to the world of dance competitions where she has served as a judge at regional competitions throughout the country. Prior to moving to Crawfordville, Kristin taught at one of the largest dance studios in Broward County and worked as a director for their competition dance team, choreographing and staging pieces from solos to productions. Her dances continue to win overall titles and her students can be found around the globe dancing at universities, on cruise ships, in companies, working as dance photographers and as artistic directors of various dance companies and studios. Kristin is extremely proud of her students’ accomplishments this year and can’t wait to watch them grow in years to come!

Lizzy Barna

This is Lizzy Barna's third year teaching at Wakulla Dance Academy! She has been dancing as long as she can remember, and has performed with many different competition dance studios across the country.  She is the captain of the Florida State Golden Girls dance team and attends Florida State University where she is working toward completing her degree in Psychology!

Hayley Mahaffey

​Hayley Mahaffey is the founder/director of Wakulla Dance Academy. At the age of four, Hayley began dancing at Hope’s Dance Center where she began performing competitively in dance and cheerleading. She was the captain of her cheerleading squad, cheered for six years and has judged several dance and cheer tryouts. She graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Psychology, where she continued her dance education, taking ballet and jazz at the FSU School of Dance. Ms. Hayley was an instructor for three years at Star Dance Academy in Titusville, FL and taught for one year at the Quincy Country Club. Ms. Hayley is a certified Yoga instructor and continues her dance training by attending dance conventions each year, taking classes from the best teachers, dancers and choreographers in the business. Recently, Ms. Hayley received her dance teacher certification from UNLV!!! Ms. Hayley is so proud of the students and instructors at Wakulla Dance Academy and is thankful to have them in her life.

Alex Porter

​Alex Porter has been part of the dance world for 16 years! She grew up dancing at Wakulla Dance Academy! Ms. Alex won many group and individual awards as a part of WDA’s competition team and continues to excel as a dancer and a choreographer.  Ms. Alex loves teaching at Wakulla Dance Academy and watching her students learn and grow.

Madison Metcalf

​Madison Metcalf teaches clogging and Musical Theater at WDA. Ms. Madison was recently accepted to FSU where she is double majoring in Theater and Public Relations. Ms. Madison recently appeared in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, Mamma Mia, and Hair.  Ms. Madison sees teaching as a part of a bigger learning experience because she is open to learning new sequences and then teaching them to her students. She is very grateful for the opportunity that Wakulla Dance Academy has given her and we are grateful to have her!
